Product description
Silver galvanized steel wire rope in thickness 1-16mm
Our silver galvanized steel wire ropes comply with DIN European Standard 13414-1 and are assigned to the rope classes 7x7, 6x19, 7x19 and 6x37. These are 6 or 7 strands with 7, 19 or 37 wires each. The high number of individual wires provides both high flexibility and increased stability. The wire rope is ideal for securing, lifting and suspending suitable loads and is used both indoors and outdoors.
High safety standard: The payload of the steel wire rope is specified with a 5-fold safety factor to the minimum breaking strength.
Tested quality: we only use high quality industrial steel for our wire ropes. With the help of several of our own calibrated universal tensile testing machines, we are able to guarantee complete quality assurance. A works certificate according to DIN EN 10204-2.2 or a meaningful test report can be issued for your application.
Versatile applications: The wire ropes are used, among other things, in the trades, bridge construction, engineering and shipbuilding. In addition, they continue to be used as a decorative element in gardens or shop windows.
Various extension options: The product can of course be installed with matching wire rope clamps or a rope lock, tensioned with wire rope tensioners and fastened with snap hooks.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the minimum radius for a pulley for a 3mm wire rope?
When using on a cable winch, it is important to ensure that the size of the roller diameter is at least 20 times the cable diameter, i.e. 60mm in this case. In principle, wire ropes with a 6x19 construction are very suitable for cable winches, as the fiber insert allows the wire rope to follow the bending changes of the cable winch.
Are the soft wire ropes twist-free?
No, the wire ropes in this offer are not twist-free. For a twist-resistant wire rope, please select the following article: https://www.drahtseile24.de/drahtseil-dreharm-meterware.
Which side cutters can be used to cut this rope well?
It is best to cut the steel cable with a suitable Felco wire rope cutter. You cannot cut the steel cable with a conventional side cutter.
Can you get more than 200 meters (eg 600 meters) in one piece?
That's no problem. Please send us an inquiry (by email to info@drahtseile24.de) with the quantity you need and we will make you an individual offer.
How can the tensile force of Newton/mm², from the technical details, be converted into the maximum weight that the wire rope can safely withstand?
To calculate the minimum breaking force, divide the minimum breaking force value from the table by the force of gravity (9.81). Example 3mm 6x19: 5,420 : 9.81 = 552.50kg. Attention! The breaking forces of the rope clamps are given without a safety factor. Please add at least a 3-5-fold safety factor for your application. Example 3mm 6x19: 552.50kg : 5 = 100kg.
What material is the core of this rope made of?
This varies depending on the construction of the wire rope. The wire rope constructions 7x7 and 7x19 have a steel core. The constructions 6x7, 6x19 and 6x37 have a fiber core.
Which alloy is used for the wire ropes?
Our wire ropes are made of hardened steel wire; nothing is known about a special alloy.
Is the galvanized wire rope conductive?
Unfortunately, we do not have conductive wire ropes in our range.
Can you tin the rope ends?
The rope ends can be heat-separated. Please write this request in the note on your order.
Is the rope magnetic?
Yes, the iron content in the rope causes magnets to stick to the wire rope.
