Product description
Silver aluminum ferrule for 1mm - 16mm ropes
Our aluminum crimp clamps comply with DIN European Standard 13411-3 and are used to connect and hold detachable rope end connections with loops or thimbles.
Tested quality: With the help of several own calibrated universal tensile testing machines we are able to guarantee a complete quality assurance. In connection with the hydraulic crimping pliers and the 2-in-1 crimping pliers & wire rope shears from our online store, the following breaking forces (converted into kg) of the crimped wire ropes with aluminum crimping clamps could be determined:
Hydraulic crimping pliers for crimping clamps & terminals:
- 3mm: 428kg
- 4mm: 937kg
- 5mm: 764kg
- 6mm: 1.070kg
- 8mm: 2.854kg
- 10mm: 4.892kg
2-in-1 crimping pliers & wire rope cutter:
- 1.5mm: 41kg (Attention! Crimped with 2mm crimping clamp).
- 2mm: 265kg
- 3mm: 552kg
- 4mm: 981kg
Attention! The breaking forces of the aluminum clamps are given without safety factor. Please note that a suitable safety factor must be included for your application. The detailed test reports can be found under "Test reports" on the article page.
Easy handling: Thanks to the oval shape, wire ropes can be easily threaded during production. It is possible to crimp the wire rope clips with a hydraulic rope crimper. Restricted end connections with rope clamps can be made with the help of impact tools or up to 4mm rope diameter with a vice or crimping pliers.
Important safety note: Custom-made, pressed rope end connections often do not comply with the DIN European standard.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which clamp size should I use for a coated wire rope (e.g. 6mm = 4 on 6)?
The size of the clamp must be adapted to the thickness of the wire rope including the plastic coating. For a 6mm wire rope (4 by 6) a 6mm clamp must be selected.
What payload can I apply to a thimble of a 4 mm steel cable, pressed with the corresponding ferrule, and how can I improve this value if it is not sufficient for me?
The working/breaking load depends on the type of crimping. If you crimp the 4mm ferrule with our 2-in-1 ferrule pliers & wire rope cutters, the connection has a breaking load of 981kg. This means that the breaking load of the crimping is higher than that of the wire rope and the wire rope breaks. This value cannot be improved.
Can a stainless steel cable also be pressed with the aluminum ferrule? Or are there disadvantages?
Please always use stainless steel or copper ferrules for stainless steel cables. When pressing stainless steel cables with aluminum ferrules, the metals may react.
8mm can it be crimped without pliers? What options are there for crimping the terminal?
Our 8mm press clamps DIN EN 13411-3 made of aluminum can be optimally pressed with our hydraulic pressing pliers (https://www.drahtseile24.de/hydraulische-presszange-fuer-pressklemmen-terminals).
