Our wire rope thimbles for rope end connections are available with groove widths of 2mm - 17mm and are thus ideally suited for rope thicknesses of 1mm - 16mm. All offered thimbles are assigned to the form B . The main function of thimbles is to protect wire ropes from the inside, at the load suspension point. Thimbles prevent abrasion of the wire rope and keep the loop of the wire rope in shape so that bending is prevented. As a general rule, we recommend choosing the groove width at least 1mm larger than the rope thickness to also protect the rope laterally.

Generally we recommend a thimblewidth of at least 1mm more than the wire rope diameter to protect the wire rope from the side as well.

The galvanised and black thimbles are made of C10 steel and the stainless steel thimbles are made of V4A stainless steel. The corrosion protection means that the thimbles can also be exposed to demanding weather conditions.
