Product description
Duplex Clamp for 2-6mm Ropes
Our silver galvanized duplex rope clamps consist of a base body with two grub screws, nuts and a clamping jaw and are used for light wire rope end connections.
Tested quality: the galvanized duplex clamps can be used for 2mm - 6mm thick steel cables. Due to low breaking forces, we recommend using duplex clamps for light duty applications only. Using calibrated universal tensile testing machines, the following breaking forces of egg-shaped clamps could be determined:
- 2mm: 91kg
- 3mm: 130kg
- 4mm: 285kg
- 5mm: 214kg
- 6mm: 400kg
Attention. The breaking forces of Duplex wire rope clamps are given without safety factor. Please add at least a 3-fold safety factor for your application. The detailed test reports can be found under "Test reports" on the article page.
Important safety note: Rope end connections with duplex clamps are not suitable for higher loads. For higher working loads, please use hydraulically crimped wire ropes, wire rope clamps according to DIN EN 13411-5 or DIN 741 or crimping clamps according to DIN EN 13411.3.
Easy handling: Self-assembly of Duplex wire rope clamps is possible with the help of a suitable wrench, two wire rope parts are clamped together by the Duplex clamp during tightening. To avoid injury, the "dead rope end" can disappear into the duplex clamp.
Versatile applications: Duplex clamps make a very high quality visual impression and can be used for simple rope end connections with loops or thimbles. Of course, our duplex clamps can be combined with all matching wire ropes from the store of Drahtseile24. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the maximum load capacity of the duplex terminals?
In tensile tests, a maximum force absorption of 91 kg for 2 mm wire ropes | 130 kg for 3 mm wire ropes | 285 kg for 4 mm wire ropes | 214 kg for 5 mm wire ropes | 400 kg for 6 mm wire ropes was determined. Attention! No safety factor was taken into account, please add at least a 3-fold safety factor to your suspension.
Which clamp size should I use for a coated wire rope (e.g. 6mm = 4 on 6)?
The size of the clamp must be adapted to the thickness of the wire rope including the plastic coating. For a 6mm wire rope (4 by 6) a 6mm clamp must be selected.
