Which thimbles do I need for coated steel cable, for example 8mm (6 on 8)?
For 8mm (6 by 8) wire ropes you need RW 10 thimbles for 8mm wire ropes. The second number in the selection field "Groove width/rope thickness" describes the recommended rope thickness.
Can these black thimbles also be bent open to connect them to an eyelet? If so, what is the easiest way to do this?
The thimbles can be bent open using suitable pliers and a vice in order to be able to connect the thimble, for example, captively to a turnbuckle.
