Wire Rope with Thimble and Hook Terminal

Galvanized wire rope in 1.5mm - 3mm thickness with thimble & hook terminal

Our silver galvanized steel wire ropes comply with DIN European Standard 13414-1 and are assigned to the rope classes 7x7 and 7x19, i.e. 7 strands with 7 or 19 wires each. The wire rope is crimped on one end with a galvanized hook terminal with a spring safety device to quickly attach the wire rope to the load lifting point without the need for any other connecting link. At the other end, the wire rope is swaged with a DIN 6899 Form B thimble to protect the wire rope at the load suspension point.

High safety standard: The working load of the wire rope with hook and eye is specified with a 5-fold safety factor to the minimum breaking load and is grouted according to DIN-EN 12385-4. Using calibrated universal tensile testing machines, the following breaking forces of the steel wire rope with hook could be determined:

• 1.5mm: 91kg
• 2mm: 132kg
• 2.5mm: 163kg
• 3mm: 356kg

Attention. Breaking forces of steel wire ropes are given without safety factor. Please apply at least a 5-fold safety factor for your application (example 1.5mm: 91kg (breaking load) : 5 (safety factor) = 18kg (working load)). Easy handling: With the help of the pressed hook terminal with spring safety device, the wire rope can be attached directly to a suitable attachment point on the ceiling or in the wall without the need for any other connecting link, such as a carabiner or shackle. Please note that the hook is pressed directly to the wire rope and cannot be removed.

Versatile applications: Wire ropes with hooks are used for light installations in trade fair construction, advertising technology or store fitting. Possible applications for this include hanging pictures, lamps or mirrors.
