Product description
PVC coated wire rope in 3-12mm thickness, loop/loop.
Our galvanized and plastic coated steel wire ropes are classified as 6x7 and 6x19, which are 6 strands with 7 or 19 wires each. The high number of individual wires provides both high flexibility and increased stability. The wire rope is crimped with a loop at both ends. Please note that wire ropes sheathed with loops must not be used for lifting or pulling loads.
Durable finish: The high-quality wire rope is surrounded by a 1-2mm thick transparent plastic sheath to protect it from damage and dirt, as well as for easy handling. The PVC sheathing protects your items from abrasion and scratches.
Tested quality: we use only high quality industrial steel for our wire ropes. With the help of several of our own calibrated universal tensile testing machines, we are able to guarantee complete quality assurance.
Versatile theft protection: The wire ropes can be used as merchandise security ropes, to secure baby carriages, garden furniture, bicycles, motorcycles and helmets, as well as catering furniture. Countless goods and objects in the house and garden, as well as in sports and camping can be easily and quickly secured with this wire rope as an anti-theft device.
Wide range of applications: The product can of course be tensioned with suitable turnbuckles and secured with snap hooks, shackles or quick links.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the information in brackets after the thickness mean? For example, 6mm (4 by 6)?
The numbers in brackets describe the thickness of the wire rope with and without sheathing. In this example, the wire rope without sheathing is 4mm thick and including the plastic sheathing it is 6mm.
Does the length of the rope include the loops or does the size of the loops have to be taken into account?
The specified length refers to the complete usable length from the load-bearing point of the loop to the load-bearing point of the loop. You can find a representation of the length of the wire rope under the technical details.
What is the diameter of the eyelets of the wire rope?
The loops of the wire ropes are pressed uniformly according to DIN specifications and have a size of the rope diameter factor of 15, resulting in the following loop heights and widths: 3mm (2 to 3): 43mm loop height inside, 20mm loop width inside | 4mm (3 to 4): 46mm loop height inside, 20mm loop width inside | 6mm (4 to 6): 67mm loop height inside, 28mm loop width inside | 8mm (6 to 8): 80mm loop height inside, 34mm loop width inside | 10mm (8 to 10): 120mm loop height inside, 52mm loop width inside | 12mm (10 to 12): 150mm loop height inside, 65mm loop width inside
To what minimum diameter can the loops of the wire ropes be compressed?
The minimum loop width per rope diameter is listed below: 3mm (2 on 3) rope thickness: 11mm minimum loop width | 4mm (3 on 4) rope thickness: 18mm minimum loop width | 6mm (4 on 6) rope thickness: 25mm minimum loop width | 8mm (6 on 8) rope thickness: 34mm minimum loop width | 10mm (8 on 10) rope thickness: 43mm minimum loop width | 12mm (10 on 12) rope thickness: 58mm minimum loop width
Is it possible to pass one loop through the other loop?
Yes, the loop size allows one loop to pass through the other loop.
What strength (12 by 10 or 10 by 8) do you recommend for a bike lock? Are both safe from bolt cutters?
Neither thickness can be cut using a conventional bolt cutter. Due to the flexibility of the wire rope, I would tend to use a 10mm (8 by 10) wire rope for securing a bicycle. However, both variants are possible.
I need a rope to secure garden furniture in a restaurant against theft. What thickness do you recommend?
To protect patio and garden furniture in a restaurant from theft, we recommend a thickness of 6mm (4 on 6) or 8mm (6 on 8).
Is the rope magnetic, i.e. do magnets stick to it?
Yes, the iron content in the rope causes magnets to stick to the wire rope.
I want to mount the cable on my fitness station. How much weight can the cable hold 100 percent without feeling guilty?
This product is not ideal for your intended use. We have special coated wire ropes for fitness equipment, which you can find at the following link: https://www.drahtseile24.de/drahtseile-ummantelt/fuer-fitnessgeraete/ These wire ropes have a very robust nylon PA12 coating and specified payloads (including a 4-fold safety factor). I hope I was able to help you. If you have any further questions or your question could not be answered 100%, please feel free to contact me.
To what packing size (diameter) can you roll up the 10/8 rope?
We roll the 10mm (8 by 10) coated wire ropes onto rings with a diameter of approx. 25cm.
Are sizes 8 by 6 and smaller also safe from conventional bolt cutters?
In principle, the 8mm (6 by 8) wire rope is safe from conventional bolt cutters. However, with a large, high-quality bolt cutter and a lot of effort (the rope must be very well secured so that the same spot can be hit again and again), the 8mm wire rope can be cut.
What is the outside diameter of the ferrules?
The diameter of the ferrules always corresponds to the outer rope diameter x 2. For a 12mm (10 by 12) coated wire rope, the diameter of the ferrules corresponds to 24mm.
