Stainless steel compression clamp for 1-10mm ropes

Our stainless steel rope clamps in the form of press clamps comply with DIN European Standard 13411-3 and are used to connect and hold non-detachable rope end connections with loops or thimbles. The rope press clamps are made of V4A AISI 316 stainless steel and are therefore both acid resistant and seawater resistant.

Tested quality: With the help of several of our own calibrated universal tensile testing machines, we are able to guarantee complete quality assurance. In connection with the hydraulic crimping pliers from our online store, the following breaking forces (converted into kg) of the crimped stainless steel ropes with stainless steel crimping clamps could be determined: 

  • 3mm: 632kg
  • 4mm: 1.172kg
  • 5mm: 1.040kg
  • 6mm: 754kg

Attention. The breaking forces of the stainless steel clamps are given without safety factor. Please note that a suitable safety factor must be included for your application. The detailed test reports can be found under "Test reports" on the article page.

Easy handling: Thanks to the oval shape A of the crimping sleeves, Stainless Steel Wire Ropes can be easily threaded during production. It is possible to crimp the rope clamps using a hydraulic rope crimper. Restricted end connections with rope clamps can be made with the help of impact tools or up to 6mm rope diameter with a vice, crimping pliers or a suitable hammer.

Important safety note: Custom-made, crimped rope end connections using stainless steel crimping sleeves often do not comply with the DIN European standard.

Frequently Asked Questions

The size of the clamp must be adapted to the thickness of the wire rope including the plastic coating. For a 6mm wire rope (4 by 6) a 6mm clamp must be selected.

You can use stainless steel press clamps. In a comparable test (as with the aluminum press clamps) with stainless steel press clamps, identical results were achieved.

There are no 0.5mm thick press clamps, but you can press the stainless steel cable with a 1mm stainless steel press clamp.
