Product description
Stainless steel turnbuckle hook/eye DIN 1480 M5 - M12
Our saltwater resistant turnbuckles made of V4A AISI 316 stainless steel comply with DIN European Standard 1480 and consist of an open tension sleeve, an eye element with metric thread, and a hook element with metric M5, M6, M8, M10 or M12 thread.
Tested quality: The polished turnbuckles are made of high-quality V4A stainless steel and can be used in difficult weather conditions due to their very high corrosion resistance. Due to the hook element and the associated low breaking forces, the turnbuckles can only be used for light tensioning. Using calibrated universal tensile testing machines, the following minimum breaking forces of the turnbuckles could be determined:
- M5: 204kg
- M6: 265kg
- M8: 449kg
- M10: 765kg
- M12: 1,121kg
Attention. The payload of the turnbuckles is given with a 5-fold safety factor to the minimum breaking load. The detailed test reports can be found under "Test reports" on the article page.
Easy handling: With the help of the right-hand and left-hand thread, the turnbuckle can be tightened and loosened very easily and quickly.
Versatile applications: Wire rope tensioners can be optimally used as a connecting element to tension wire ropes. Due to its resistance to seawater, turnbuckles are increasingly used in shipping, water sports, the food industry and mechanical engineering. When using turnbuckles and wire ropes, we recommend the following combination:
- M5: wire ropes up to a thickness of 3mm.
- M6: 4mm wire rope
- M8: 5mm wire ropes
- M10: 6mm wire ropes
- M12: 8mm - 10mm wire ropes
