Stainless Steel Egg Shape Clamps for 2-6mm Ropes
Made of V4A AISI 316 stainless steel, our saltwater resistant egg-shaped wire rope clamps consist of two stainless steel shells and one countersunk screw and can be used for light steel rope end connections.
Tested quality: the polished egg-shaped clamps can be used for 2mm - 6mm thick steel cables and can be used for a long period of time outdoors due to the processing of high quality and stainless V4A stainless steel. Due to the low breaking forces, we recommend stainless steel egg-shaped clamps to be used for decorative purposes only. With the help of calibrated universal tensile testing machines, the following minimum breaking forces of the egg-shaped clamps could be determined:
- 2mm: 14kg
- 3mm: 30kg
- 4mm: 35kg
- 5mm: 40kg
- 6mm: 61kg
Attention. The breaking forces of the egg-shaped clamps are specified without a safety factor. Please add at least a 3-fold safety factor for your application. The detailed test reports can be found under "Test reports" on the article page.
Easy handling: With the help of a screwdriver and the countersunk screw, the two metal shells can be quickly attached to the steel rope, thus creating a rope end connection. To avoid injuries, the "dead rope end" can disappear into the egg-shaped clamp.
Important safety note: Rope end connections with egg-shaped clamps are not suitable for higher loads. For higher working loads, please use wire ropes hydraulically pressed by us, wire rope clamps according to DIN 741 or press clamps according to DIN EN 13411.3.
Easy extension options: Wire rope clamps in egg shape make a very high-quality visual impression and can be used for simple rope end connections with loops or thimbles. In tensile tests, a maximum force absorption of 14kg for 2mm wire ropes | 30kg for 3mm wire ropes | 35kg for 4mm wire ropes | 40kg for 5mm wire ropes | 60kg for 6mm wire ropes was determined. Attention! No safety factor was taken into account, please add at least a 3-fold safety factor when hanging them. We recommend using egg-shaped wire rope clamps for decorative purposes only.
