PA black coated steel rope for fitness equipment in 4-5mm thickness with eyelet, threaded bolt and ball stopper
Our black coated steel rope for fitness equipment complies with DIN European Standard 12385-4 and is assigned to rope class 7x19, which is 7 strands with 19 wires each. High-quality manufactured with black PA 12 nylon sheath, the wire rope is specially designed for fitness equipment and pulleys. Due to the sturdy and close-fitting 1mm sheathing, the wire rope is protected inside and has increased durability. The steel cable can be used as a replacement cable on various lat pulls, cable pulls and power stations on the pull tower for professional and home use. The steel cable is crimped at one end with a small eye terminal. At the other end the rope is pressed with a M10, M12 or M14 threaded bolt to be able to fix it in the weight block. In addition, the rope is equipped with a ball stopper, which serves as a stop buffer.
Tested quality: with the help of calibrated universal tensile testing machines, the following breaking forces of the coated steel ropes for fitness equipment could be determined:
- 4mm (3 on 4): 591kg
- 5mm (4 on 5): 1.157kg
Attention. The breaking forces of the steel ropes are given without safety factor. The detailed test reports can be found under "Test reports" on the article page.
High safety standard: The indicated working loads of the steel ropes are given with a 4-fold safety factor to the minimum breaking force.
High-quality ball stopper With the help of calibrated universal tensile testing machines, a minimum breaking load of 1,223kg of the ball stopper could be determined: No safety factor is also taken into account when specifying the minimum breaking force. The detailed test report can be found under "Test reports" on the article page. Due to the very high breaking load, the ball stopper can be used as a stopping element for large weights without hesitation and does not change its shape due to the application of force.
Versatile application possibilities: If your steel cable on a piece of fitness equipment is broken or outdated, simply measure the diameter and length of the steel cable and we will make a new wire cable to fit you within a short time.

How exactly is the length of the rope measured?
The specified length (desired size) refers to the complete usable length from the load-bearing point of the eyelet to the end of the round clamp after the threaded bolt. You can find a diagram of the length of the wire rope under the technical details.
Can I just send you my broken rope and you configure a new one or attach the end pieces to a new rope? If so, how long does that take?
Of course, you can do that. Please just enclose a short letter with your address, email address and your request for a replica of the rope. Once we have received the wire rope, it will take 1-2 days until we have made and sent out a new one.
Hello, I need a 5mm coated steel cable with M12 threaded bolt and ball stopper for my fitness equipment. In order to be able to specify the exact length, I would also need the length of the round clamp (stop clamp) behind the threaded bolt (see your technical drawing under technical details).
The length of the round clamp is 23mm for the 5mm wire rope and 15mm for the 4mm wire rope.
From the beginning of the eyelet terminal to the end of the threaded bolt I need 3.80m at 4mm and M10. What length do I need to order?
You select the variants 4mm (3 of 4) / M10 / 140kg and the length range 3.01m - 4.00m. Then write 3.80m in your desired size. The wire rope is made exactly according to the specifications.
Were you able to use thimbles instead of eyelets?
Of course, that's no problem. Please order the item with an eyelet and write "Please crimp with thimble" in the order note. We will then manufacture the wire rope to fit you.
What does the information in brackets after the thickness mean? For example, 5mm (4 by 5)?
The numbers in brackets describe the thickness of the wire rope with and without sheathing. In your example 5mm (4 by 5), the wire rope without sheathing is 4mm thick and including the plastic sheathing it is 5mm.
Can the stopper be removed when installing the rope and then reattached later?
No, that's not possible. Alternatively, we can leave one side open and you can make your own end connection with rope clamps.
Is there a washer between the eyelet and the ball stopper so that the thin eyelet does not drill into the ball stopper under load? Or would you insert a washer before pressing if requested?
No washer is installed as standard. If you would like a washer, please write this request in the comments on your order. Our production department will then make the wire rope including the washer to fit you.
Hello! Do you also install threaded bolts of different lengths to attach the weight block to the ropes as requested?
No, we only have one size of threaded bolt. Alternatively, I can offer you to send us your threaded bolt and we will install it.

Do you also have threaded bolts in M16?
Unfortunately, we do not have M16 threaded bolts or threaded bolts with imperial dimensions in our range. However, you are welcome to send us your threaded bolt for pressing. To do this, please simply place an order in our online shop with the appropriate wire rope and a corresponding comment. You can then send us your threaded bolt with a short note with your address, email address and your request for the conversion.
