PVC coated wire rope in 3mm - 12mm thickness, thimble/thimble with turnbuckle DIN 1480 eye/eyelet
Our galvanized and PVC coated wire ropes are classified as 6x7 and 6x19, which are 6 strands with 7 or 19 wires each. The high number of individual wires provides both high flexibility and increased stability. The wire rope is crimped at both ends with a DIN 6899 Form B thimble to protect the wire rope at the load suspension point. In addition, the sheathed steel cable is captively swaged with a DIN 1480 turnbuckle with eyelets and metric M6, M8, M10, M12, M14 or M16 threads.
Tested quality: With the aid of calibrated universal tensile testing machines, the following breaking forces of the sheathed wire ropes with thimbles as well as the turnbuckles DIN 1480 eye/eye could be determined:
- 3mm (2 on 3): 239kg
- 4mm (3 on 4): 597kg
- 6mm (4 on 6): 958kg
- 8mm (6 to 8): 1,994kg
- 10mm (8 to 10): 3.926kg
- 12mm (10 to 12): 4.933kg
- M6: 800kg
- M8: 1.400kg
- M10: 2.500kg
- M12: 3.500kg
- M14: 4.000kg
- M16: 5.000kg
Attention. The breaking forces of steel ropes are given without safety factor. We recommend to consider at least a 5-fold safety factor for your application. You can find the detailed test reports under "Test reports" on the article page.
Versatile uses: The wire ropes are used for tensioning, rigging and unrigging suitable loads, such as banners, tarpaulins, power lines or fairy lights. The turnbuckle can be used to tighten the steel cable, adjust the length and regulate the elastic effect.
Various extension options: Our coated wire ropes for tensioning can of course be combined with matching shackles, snap hooks or quick links from the Drahtseile24 store.
